A Global Hub for the Business Events Industry
From 18 to 20 November 2025, Barcelona once again became the epicentre of the global Business Events industry, hosting IBTM World in Barcelona. The event brought together over 12,000 professionals from more than 140 countries, confirming its position as one of the most influential gatherings in the business events sector.
With around 2,500 exhibitors, the show floor reflected the full diversity of the industry, from destinations and convention bureaux to hotels, venues and event tech providers. The strong international presence, particularly among hosted buyers, highlighted IBTM’s growing reach far beyond Europe.

Three Days of Meetings That Drive Real Business
IBTM World isn’t just about visibility, it’s about results. At the core of the event is a structured system of thousands of pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings, allowing buyers and suppliers to connect efficiently and generate concrete business opportunities.
This format transforms the event into a high-value marketplace where participants can build partnerships, explore new destinations and secure future events in just a few days, making it one of the most ROI-driven gatherings in the industry.
Behind this collective presence, the Luxembourg delegation was supported by a strong network of committed partners, each bringing their own expertise to the table. From venues and hotels to agencies and destination experts, representatives from Anama Management, brain&more, Luxexpo The Box, Hotel Le Royal, Luxembourg Congrès SA – European Convention Center Luxembourg, LÉGÈRE Hotel Luxembourg, Travel Pro and the Luxembourg City Tourist Office all contributed to showcasing the destination and engaging with international buyers throughout the event.
Innovation at the Heart of the Programme
Beyond the exhibition floor, IBTM World 2025 placed a strong emphasis on innovation and future trends shaping the industry.
Key discussions explored:
The growing role of artificial intelligence in event planning and matchmaking
How to balance technology with human experience
New approaches to sustainability, talent and advocacy in the events sector
Dedicated innovation spaces and a rich conference programme allowed participants to engage directly with emerging solutions and rethink how events are designed and delivered.

An International Marketplace driven by Innovation
One of the defining features of the 2025 edition was its global diversity. With participants from over 140 countries and a significant share of buyers travelling from outside Europe, IBTM World continues to strengthen its role as a cross-continental business platform.
The presence of new exhibitors and destinations further illustrated the dynamism of the sector and the increasing competition between destinations to attract international events.
While business meetings remain central, IBTM World also fosters a strong sense of community. Conferences, networking sessions and informal exchanges create an environment where ideas circulate as much as deals are made.
The 2025 edition reinforced a key industry reality: events are no longer just about logistics, they are about creating meaningful, human-centred experiences.
Luxembourg on the Global Stage
IBTM World 2025 demonstrated that the future of the events industry lies in the intersection of technology, global connectivity and human interaction.
In just three days, thousands of meetings, new partnerships and strategic insights helped shape the next generation of business events worldwide.
For Luxembourg, IBTM World remains a key platform to actively position itself on the international stage. By engaging with global buyers, industry leaders and decision-makers, the destination continues to strengthen its visibility and highlight its expertise in hosting international events.
The presence of Luxembourg at IBTM World 2025 reflects a clear ambition: to remain competitive, connected and aligned with the evolving expectations of the global meetings industry.
