DGPs Congress brings the psychology community together in Luxembourg

The psychology community came together in Luxembourg

From 7 to 10 September 2026, Luxembourg welcomed around 2,000 participants for the DGPs Congress at the European Convention Center Luxembourg. Under the theme “Haltung. Vielfalt. Zukunft.”(“Attitude. Diversity. Future.”), the congress brought together the German-speaking psychology community for four days of scientific exchange, discussion and networking.

Organised by the German Psychological Society (DGPs) together with Congress President Prof. Dr. Robert Kumsta from the University of Luxembourg, the congress addressed some of the key topics shaping psychology and society today. The programme explored areas including mental health, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as well as sustainable behaviour, through keynotes, panel discussions, scientific presentations and opportunities for professional exchange.

Among the contributors were Prof. Dr. Eva-Lotta Brakemeier, President of the DGPs, as well as Matthias Sperl, Ulrich Ansorge and Annette Kluge, alongside researchers and psychology professionals from across the German-speaking scientific community.

As one of the leading gatherings for psychology in the German-speaking world, the DGPs Congress provided an important platform for sharing research, discussing current developments and strengthening connections across institutions and disciplines.

Connect international scientific communities.

Welcoming the congress to Luxembourg also highlighted the destination’s ability to bring together international scientific communities. With its multilingual environment, strong research ecosystem and centrally located event infrastructure, Luxembourg offers an ideal setting for knowledge exchange, collaboration and international congresses.

The Luxembourg Convention Bureau was pleased to see the psychology community come together in Luxembourg and to showcase the destination as a meeting place for science, ideas and international connections.
